One of the hardest things about SEO is knowing what type of content you need to produce to rank for any given keyword.
All you hear these days is “content is king“. Apparently, you just have to stuff your blog post with keywords, then wait for the Google fairy to sprinkle its magic dust.

Keyword research is my favourite part of SEO Marketing. It’s like panning for gold with an old sieve or scanning the beach with a metal detector once everyone’s gone home (no, honestly, I’m not one of those!)
Once in a while you find a little nugget that blows you away, stops you dead in your tracks.
Sunday 31st July 2022 was one of those days.
A lot of business owners I chat with are obsessed with the load speed of their websites. Typically, they’ve read an article about “the importance of site speed for SEO” which directed them to Google’s Page Speed Testing Tool. They run their website address through the tool and end up with what seems to be a crap ‘score’, supported by a long list of improvement recommendations just to add insult to injury. Suddenly, whatever other issues their website might have are well and truly ignored. They’re determined that page speed is the sole reason their website doesn’t rank and gets little traffic. (more…)

Here’s an interaction I had on the phone last week.
*Phone rings*
Me: “This is William of SEO Ireland. How can I help you?”
Caller: “I need someone to do some SEO on my website. I’ve been on a digital marketing course, so I know a fair bit about SEO already. But I just don’t have the time to look after my website. I’ve done some research and there are just 5 keywords I want to get ranked for. Can you do that, how much will you charge and what guarantee can you provide?” (more…)
